Meet Amanda Quail

In 2023, I trained with the prestigous Clifton Practice to become a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, transitioning from a 20 year teaching career in Primary Education, both in mainstream and ASN. My journey into hypnotherapy was inspired by my personal struggle with a pain and a short period of subsequent depression.


While traditional medicine provided limited solace, my curiosity grew about the brain's interplay with pain and the power of the subconscious. Delving into neuroscience, I became convinced that if certain factors exacerbated my condition, there was potential in the mind to reverse and heal. This conviction to ‘free my mind’ drove me to help others harness the mind's potential for healing. More research lead me to the enlightening realisation that I had more control over my recovery than what I first thought. As part of my own therapeutic process, an incredibly important question was proposed to me... ‘If things were different for you, what would that look like?’  


Starting with this answer, this is where my recovery journey began and where yours will too.

What is Hypnotherapy?

The Initial Consultation

This session gives us the opportunity to meet in a relaxed environment, via Zoom or in a clinic setting, to establish if the therapy is a suitable option for you. It also gives me the opportunity to explain how I would work with your needs in more detail.

The session involves some information gathering and then a very relatable brain explanation, rooted in neuroscience which will help explain why you feel the way you do and, crucially, what I can do to help you. Through your knowledge of the brain, solution-focused hypnotherapy encourages you to make shifts in how you think and create new neural pathways.

Please note, no hypnosis takes place during the initial consultation but in EVERY session thereafter.

Moreover, all information given is treated in the utmost confidence and you will be treated in a friendly and professional manner and with respect.
